midwives in schools
Midwives use appealing materials, themed games and exciting experiments to give children and young people a natural approach to the topics of pregnancy, experiencing the baby in the womb, becoming parents, birth and the postpartum period.
One-to-one care during giving birth
The Austrian Midwives Association (ÖHG) calls for reliable one-to-one care during childbirth, meaning reliable framework conditions for guideline-compliant care of woman and child during birth. As soon as a woman enters the active opening phase of childbirth, she should be cared for by a midwife who exclusively takes care for this one birth.
Videos on midwifery work
Postnatal care, breastfeeding, the mother-child pass counselling session and the demand for one-to-one care during childbirth – the ÖHG has produced short videos on these topics for use on social media.
You can also find the videos, which provide information about the competences and services of midwives, here on our website.
