Geburtsbegleitung ins Krankenhaus (birth support at a hospital)

A lot of women prefer getting to know “their” midwife already before birth and knowing that this person is the one supporting them throughout delivery. Some hospitals in Vienna, Lower Austria and the Burgenland have attending midwives who come with women to the hospital at the onset of labour and stay with them until they leave the labour ward again. Some work individually while others work as teams. Some private hospitals also give their patients this option.

If you think birth support at a hospital would be an option for you, research early if there are any hospitals in a reasonable distance to your place of living, which offer this model of midwifery care and contact one of the midwives as early as possible. In a first meeting you can get to know the midwife, her services and the relevant costs.

Our midwife search is a quick and easy possibility to find midwives who offer birth support at a hospital or sanatorium near-by.
